Constants and Variables

It's helpful to think of life as a set of interconnected equations, each with its constants and variables. Naturally, we gravitate towards constants, finding comfort in stability and predictability. While a life filled with constants can become monotonous, a life dominated by variables can feel chaotic and overwhelming. We cherish our constants—the steady rhythm of life aligned with our goals and plans. We often behave like constants, shielding our feelings and guarding our emotions to maintain control. But in doing so, we tend to overlook the numerous variables that inevitably enter the equation of life, bringing change in various forms.

Our path to salvation, however, is often hindered by Karma. Although Karma is nothing more than the accumulation of our sensations, feelings, and emotions, many of us struggle to confront it. Perhaps it's because we lack the resolve or humility to overcome it, or our pride and ego are holding us back. Whatever the reason, we cannot reach spiritual fulfilment if we fail to neutralise our emotional responses.

Now, consider Karma as a set of equations, each with its constants and variables. All the Divine needs to do is tweak the variables to change the scenario to observe our emotional responses. The key to overcoming Karma lies in not overreacting when these variables change. However, for most of us, outcomes remain predictable because of our underlying Karmic feelings and emotions. Therefore, our efforts should focus on neutralising our emotions and stabilising our feelings, so that the Karmic equations of our lives consist only of constants. By achieving this, we can eliminate the variables from our lives, creating a more balanced and harmonious existence. Isn't this a pursuit worth dedicating ourselves to in this lifetime?
